2wire wifi repeater




















Thanks for the info. My ATT SpeedStream modem is configured as a bridge, and one of the Buffalo's is connected directly to the modem, and the other Buffalo is acting as a repeater. It's been working great, but my place is nowhere near the size of my client's house.

Have you had any experience with that Buffalo model? Does it have great range? Is it better or worse than Linksys? One or two? Also, do you have a link to set it up via that firmware after it is flashed? And I assume flashing it with that firmware would void the warranty. Not sure I would want to do that with a client's equipment. Need to cover bigger size, more units can be use. The Buffalo is unfortunately not available for the time being.

In other words, you could have a DD-WRT v24 unit connect wirelessly to the 2wire, and share that connection with locally wired clients, and also broadcast another wireless signal on the same network. If instead of minimizing hardware units and costs you can afford to throw the client's money at the problem, you might be better off with a pair of dedicated access points which have WDS repeating support with decent encryption i.
