Navigate to and select the image you want to embed in the letterhead. If you're using a large image, open and resize the picture in Paint or another image editor before you add it to your letterhead, or choose one of the appropriately sized clip-art images built into Windows.

Right-click the image and choose Format Picture. Use the options in the Format Picture dialog box to add a drop shadow to the image, resize it, or make other changes. When the image looks the way you like it, click the Layout tab in Word and choose a wrapping style other than the default "In line with text.

Now use your mouse to drag the image to the position you prefer in the header. You can use the controls along the image's edge to resize it manually, or drag the little green circle at the top to rotate the picture. When you're happy with the image's size and position, click Close on the Header and Footer toolbar in Word , or click anywhere outside the header in Word to see how your letterhead will look.

Choose "On my computer" under Templates in the New Documents pane of Word , select it from the list that appears under the General tab of the Templates dialog box, and click OK. When I change it to 0pt, this resolved the double spacing issue.

The only issue is that I have to change that setting every time I send an email. Microsoft Word by default is set to 0pt. I opened the stationary template file in word and it was set to "auto" so I changed it to 0pt and saved it. After the changes, I launched the file and it indeed saved the settings. I thought this would have solved the issue but it didn't. I rebooted the machine and created a different template file with 0pt set on the spacing and attempted to use that file but it changes to "auto" when I compose an email.

Now im really stumped. For some reason, Outlook is formatting the stationary file to "auto" spacing! Any ideas Thanks. April 24th, , AM 6. April 24th, , AM 7. I read that but when I create and edit html email, I never have the double spacing issue.

Regular html mail is set to 0pt spacing so I never run in to that issue. It's only when I use the stationary template, outlook changes the paragraph setting to auto. Very odd and freaken annoying! The Insert Picture dialog box opens. To resize the logo you just added, place your mouse on one of its corners the resizing handle. Hold down your mouse as you drag the handle inward or outward to the desired size. To make the logo easier to move, change its wrapping style. Switch to the footer section of your page.
